In the summer of 2026, RWU piloted a new international teaching format for sustainable energy systems called “ELEVATE Energy.” 

In July, students at RWU built a mobile green oasis as part of a sustainability project. It is intended to be a shaded place to relax and can be used in the future both on the university campus and in the city of Weingarten.

In July, several schools from Ravensburg and the surrounding area visited RWU. The students got to know the university and its academic programs and gained insights into various subject areas through workshops. 

RWU and PH Weingarten are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their joint library. Housed in the historic Fruchtkasten building on Martinsberg, the library is the oldest collaboration of its kind in Baden-Württemberg.

The Schools of Mechanical Engineering and Technology and Management held graduation ceremonies for their graduates. A total of 97 students received their diplomas.

On June 15, RWU hosted two partner universities. Representatives from universities in Thailand and Japan had traveled to the university to sign agreements with it.

75 students from the School of Social Work, Health, and Nursing graduated from RWU this summer semester. At the graduation ceremony, the graduates received their diplomas and celebrated with family and friends.

RWU will soon be offering a new bachelor's degree program. Digital Engineering combines computer science, engineering, and modern production technologies.

On June 11, Professor Dr. Thorsten Thiel from the University of Erfurt will speak about the interplay between AI and democracy. Among other things, he will discuss the change in the democratic public sphere and the increasing mechanization of state decision-making processes.

In the Wednesday seminar on June 17 at RWU, Prof. Dr. Jan-Marc Hodek will discuss the German healthcare system. Among other things, he will discuss the question of whether smokers should pay higher health insurance contributions.

Every step counts. Because climbing stairs is good for your physical fitness and for the environment. How RWU students want to motivate people in the Marienplatzgarage to take the stairs instead of the elevator.

The Formula Student Weingarten team presented its 20th racing car at RWU on May 20 under the motto "The twentieth on the 20th". Around 200 guests came to celebrate the anniversary and see the "Stinger26E" for the new season.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at RWU bid farewell to its graduates at a ceremony attended by numerous guests.

In the Wednesday seminar on May 20 at RWU, doctor Tilman Arnold will talk about sea rescue in the Mediterranean. He has been active on several rescue ships since 2024.

Dairy farms in Baden-Württemberg have been collecting data for years. Artificial intelligence should now help farmers to use this data and make better decisions in the future. What RWU has to do with it.

Under the motto "The twentieth on the 20th", the Formula Student Team Weingarten invites you to this year's rollout: On 20. On May 20, 2026, the RWU racing team will unveil the 20th Stinger in the team's history.

At the Indian theme week "Namaste@RWU" at the end of April, RWU welcomed guests from its Indian partner universities and set an example for international cooperation with a variety of events.

Ravensburg Commercial Schools and RWU have officially sealed their cooperation. The aim is to facilitate the transition from school to university and career.

At this year's Girls' Day at RWU, almost 100 schoolgirls were given exciting insights into technical and scientific fields of study in a total of ten different workshops.

The inauguration of the new dynamometer for the automotive engineering and mechatronics laboratory was also attended by specialists from the manufacturer MAHA SE & Co. KG came to the RWU Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences. 

In the Wednesday seminar on April 22 at RWU, Carolin-Anna Achberger will address the topic of climate change at the university. She will discuss RWU's energy and climate protection concept and explain the opportunities and challenges.

The RWU RoboCup team took part in the RoboCup German Open 2026 in Cologne in March with the robots "Tiago" and "Kate". They took third place in the final.

In the summer semester, there will be a series of events at RWU focusing on the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence. Interested parties from outside the university are also welcome.

Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences has maintained close relations with universities and institutions in India for many years. An Indian theme week will soon be taking place on campus.
