Weingarten –On Monday, June 15, Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences (RWU) signed cooperation agreements with two universities. Representatives from the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology in Thailand (SIIT) and the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Japan (JAIST) visited the campus. Among those present were SIIT Rector Professor Dr. Kriengsak Panuwatwanich and the initiator of the partnership, Professor Dr. Waree Kongprawechnon.
Students can earn dual degrees
SIIT is already a long-standing and valued partner of RWU. The visit served, on the one hand, to deepen and strengthen the existing cooperation. On the other hand, the two universities signed two dual-degree agreements that day. In the future, RWU students in the Bachelor’s program in Industrial Engineering and the Master’s program in Technology Management & Optimization will be able to earn a dual degree as part of a study abroad program at SIIT. The same applies in reverse.
JAIST was introduced to RWU last year as a long-standing partner of SIIT. Now, the Japanese university and RWU have signed a cooperation agreement for the exchange of master’s students.
Guests signed the Golden Book
Professor Dr. Barbara Niersbach, Vice Rector for Research, International Affairs, and Technology Transfer at RWU, emphasized the overarching goal of these partnerships. “We want to build key partnerships and breathe even more life into them,” she said.
Clemens Moll, Mayor of Weingarten, attended the signing ceremony. Representatives from the partner universities all signed the City of Weingarten’s Golden Book. After the formalities, the guests were given a tour of the campus and through downtown Ravensburg.
