What is the Children's University?
How do pictures learn to walk, where do atoms come from and can a robot tidy up my room? If these and similar questions from the world of science and research interest you and you are between 9 and 12 years old, then the Ravensburg-Weingarten Children's University is the right place for you. Experience science up close and discover topics that you would never have thought were scientific. RWU will introduce you to exciting topics from the fields of technology, social issues and economics.
You'll sit in real lecture halls, get hands-on and, for example
- build a small motor
- fold a bishop's mitre from a napkin
- experiment with magic tricks.
The Children's University academic year always starts in October and ends in July. During this time, you can take part in nine exciting lectures by professors from RWU Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences, University of Education Weingarten and Ravensburg Cooperative State University.
Registration
You can register in October on the official website of the Children's University. If you want to take part in the Children's University, you will need a pass for €10. This allows you to attend all nine lectures and you will receive a stamp in your ID card after each lecture to confirm your participation.

Lectures by professors of the RWU
On this page you will find our lectures for the academic year 2025/26. Our lectures take place in a lecture hall of our university and in the Spieleland, always start at 3 p.m. and last 45 minutes each.
