Who we are
University sports at RWU and the PH University of Education Weingarten is an offer from students for students.
Here you will find many different sports and free access to a motivated and motivating sports community. Sport is the perfect balance to your studies - at every level. Simply come along to the respective course times, get to know university sports on the Weingarten campus and make contact with many new fellow students.
Of course, you can also get involved as a course leader for your sport. Become part of the team and get in touch with the respective course leader to find out more.

Endurance sport

Athletics
Are you looking for a sporting challenge that is fun and keeps you fit? Then why not join our athletics course! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced runner, everyone is welcome! All you need is sports shoes, fun and basic stamina to keep going during the warm-up (approx. 10 minutes).
Athletics offers a varied and versatile sporting experience through various disciplines such as sprinting, throwing and jumping. Even though it is an individual sport, we achieve a lot together and train as a team to support each other. Our training follows a tried and tested structure that is always the same: Warm-up, stretching and the subsequent workout. This means that both beginners and advanced athletes can be optimally supported.

Swimming
Here you have the opportunity to learn new swimming techniques with us, improve your endurance and strength and, above all, have fun swimming. Our training is structured thematically and is organized together. It doesn't matter whether you are a motivated beginner or an advanced swimmer - there is a place for everyone. You can swim and train in different lanes at your own pace so that there is a suitable level for everyone.
Please bring swimwear, sufficient drinking water, toiletries and ideally swimming goggles. Even if training is possible without swimming goggles, we strongly recommend them so that you can swim comfortably and safely in chlorinated water. Motivated swimmers who come regularly and want to improve their endurance can also take part in one of the planned training sessions by arrangement.

Swimming training
You can expect guided swimming training in which you will learn new swimming techniques together and improve your endurance and strength.
The training content is organized and structured thematically with a focus on your needs. The course is aimed at motivated beginners and advanced swimmers who can swim and train in different lanes at their own pace.
Please bring your swimwear, drinking water and toiletries. Swimming goggles are also recommended.

Ball sports
Volleyball
It doesn't matter whether you've played beach volleyball on the beach or in a club. An open-minded volleyball community awaits you here, welcoming you to university sports and the nearest beach court during your studies. Every level of ability is welcome, as the groups are divided into different levels of difficulty. There is a beginner course, the advanced 1 and 2 courses and the expert course.
Choose a level, bring your sports gear and become part of our volleyball community.

Badminton
Our course offers you the ideal opportunity to improve your skills and make new friends - whether you are a beginner or an experienced player. Just come along and experience the fun and dynamism of our badminton community!
A maximum of 20 people can play at the same time. It is an advantage if you bring your own badminton racket. We look forward to seeing you!

Basketball
Our basketball course is the perfect place for anyone who enjoys basketball, whether you're a beginner or an advanced player. We start each session with a 15-minute throw-in and warm-up to get into the game. We then choose teams and play against each other for the rest of the time.
We also offer training sessions if required. Whether you want to refine your technique or just play, you'll find the right mix with us. Just come along and experience basketball in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in our sports hall! We look forward to seeing you!

Soccer
Do you love soccer or just want to try out a new sport? Then you've come to the right place! Whether you're new to soccer or already have experience, everyone can have fun playing together in our course. After a short warm-up, we form balanced teams depending on the number of participants and play against each other on small goals.
The focus is on fairness and enjoying the game. Just come along and experience the fun of soccer with us. We look forward to seeing you!

Handball
Are you ready for a round of indoor fun? Whether you're a beginner or a pro, you're welcome to join our handball course! An open-minded handball community awaits you here. All you need are your handball shoes. We play in mixed teams and start each session with a short warm-up together before taking to the field. As a rule, we play 5 against 5, with the emphasis on fun and fellowship.
In good weather, we also like to play on our outdoor court. If there is sufficient interest and motivation, we even have the opportunity to take part in tournaments at other universities. Come along and become part of our sporting community!

Roundnet
At Roundnet, you can expect a sociable group that is always keen to play with new people and spread the sport. It doesn't matter whether you are new to the game or already have experience. We always play for fun in changing constellations and also offer small training sessions on request to improve your individual game.

Tennis
Would you like to play tennis? Whether you're a beginner or a pro, you're welcome here! In our tennis course you can try out tennis or improve your skills on the outdoor facilities of the university sports center. Enjoy free play in a relaxed atmosphere or learn the basics from our experienced coaches.
Even if you've never held a racket before, you've come to the right place! Come along, discover the fun of tennis and meet new people! We look forward to seeing you!

Dancing

Hip Hop
Are you looking for a university alternative and enjoy dancing? Then take a look at our hip hop course. We are happy to welcome all levels, especially beginners.
We start with a warm-up with basic hip-hop steps. This is followed by a choreography where you can improve your moves and learn new steps. The class ends with a relaxed cool-down with stretching exercises.
The instructor Jenny is open to your ideas and suggestions. This gives you the opportunity to learn from each other and have a great time together.

Gymnastics
Here you will find a motivated gymnastics community that will support you individually at every level. Our open concept without a predetermined program allows everyone to develop from their own point of view. The focus is on having fun, but at the same time our common goal is to grow beyond ourselves. Kickboxing
We are pleased to offer kickboxing as one of our sports. Our kickboxing training is aimed at all interested parties - whether beginners, sports enthusiasts or already experienced martial artists. In our courses, we combine endurance, coordination, reaction and, above all, fun in a structured and supervised training session. We work together on our individual goals in three different levels.
All exercises are carried out with boxing gloves and/or pads so that nobody has to worry about getting injured. We train together and not against each other! Come along and experience how much fun and challenge our kickboxing course offers. We look forward to seeing you!

Circuit training
Are you looking for a sporting balance where you can really let off steam and be out in the fresh air at the same time? Then you've come to the right place! Our full-body workout is a very efficient way to improve your fitness. We train your muscle development, strength endurance and coordination through a wide variety of exercises.
During the circuit training, we motivate and support you in an appreciative manner. Whether you are a beginner or a sports professional, come along and let's work up a sweat together!

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate Frisbee
Do you fancy a dynamic and fun team game? Then try Ultimate Frisbee! This non-contact sport combines strategy, skill and team spirit. Fairness is the top priority. The game is played in teams of three to seven people. The aim is to catch the frisbee in the opposing team's end zone. Whoever holds the disc in their hands is not allowed to run any further. This encourages precise passing and clever tactics.
It doesn't matter whether you already have experience with this sport or are holding a frisbee for the first time: Our course is open to everyone! Please note that the course will not take place in windy or rainy weather. Join us, meet new people and experience how much fun Ultimate Frisbee is!

Yoga

Yoga
Namasté dear fellow students and yoga enthusiasts!
Would you like to find your balance and strengthen your body at the same time? Then our yoga class is the right place for you!
We start with a warm-up together and then begin with active shaking exercises from Kundalini yoga to wake up your body and mind. We then move on to vigorous Hatha yoga sequences lasting between 45 and 60 minutes. Here you can expect a varied combination of postures, breathing exercises and meditation.
In addition, we focus on a new topic each week to give you further insights into yoga practice. Whether you have only mastered sun salutation C or are an absolute beginner, we look forward to seeing you! Bring plenty of water, your yoga mat and warm socks!
