300 Students visit RWU

Weingarten –In July, nearly 300 students from Ravensburg and the surrounding area visited RWU University. Through college information sessions, project days, and workshops, the students had the opportunity to get to know the university and gain insight into various subject areas.

RWU has several partner schools that bring their students to the university once a year. This past July, the Humpis School, the Albert Einstein High School, the Welfen High School, and the Rupert Ness High School from Wangen visited the campus.

Workshops on podcasts, psychology, and robots were offered

Heike Krumm, the contact person for school relations at RWU, introduced Ravensburg-Weingarten University and its academic programs to the 10th-grade students. Among other things, she discussed the differences between universities, universities of applied sciences, and dual study programs, the specific structure of a degree program at RWU, and the many opportunities available outside of lectures. 

“The University of Applied Sciences is distinguished by its close connection to professional practice,” said Heike Krumm. “Whether during the mandatory internship semester or through student initiatives like Formula Student or the Maker Space HOME, at RWU it’s all about doing.”

Afterward, the students were able to choose from among the various fields of study offered at RWU: The program included workshops on the basics of business administration, psychology, and various technical disciplines. One group of students produced their own podcast, while others worked on robots or learned how to take photos with professional cameras.
