Technology and mobility

RWU offers a wide range of courses in the fields of technology and mobility: Automotive Engineering and Electromobility, Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physical Engineering and Mechatronics. There is also a degree course in industrial engineering, which combines technical expertise with business skills.

It all began in the 1960s with the technical degree courses. Over the decades, RWU has grown to offer more than 30 degree courses. And these courses enrich each other. For example, input from marketing, design or psychology can also be interesting and important for engineers.

Studierende Mobilität Fahrzeugtechnik
  • Landingpage Testimonial Technik Laura
I wanted to study at a family-oriented university that offers a lot of practical experience and where you are not thrown in at the deep end of the professional world after graduation.
  • Landingpage Testimonial Technik Sarah
Later in my career, I want to develop technologies that don't yet exist.
  • Testimonial Mobilität Schärtel
You can also gain important experience here outside of lectures, for example in our own e-mobility laboratory. With project work or student assistant positions, you can specialize in a topic and lay the foundation for starting a job or a Master's degree. The region and the proximity to Lake Constance are also a great added value for me and many of the friends I have made here.

Get a taste

At RWU, you have the opportunity to get a taste of selected degree programs without any obligation and in an uncomplicated way: the online taster course talent scanner is also available in the fields of technology and mobility:

Talentscanner

You will gain insights into the degree programs Automotive engineering (PLUS), Energy and Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In the orientation phase of the online trial course, you will learn the basics of the specialist disciplines required to solve the subsequent practical case studies. You will learn the engineering fundamentals of design, materials science and other topics.

Optics, sensor technology and everything to do with physics as well as the development of new technical objects - these are the components of the trial course Physical Engineering. In the in-depth phase, students then work on an innovation and present it to a fictitious investor at the end. Young inventors are given space for ideas and are supported in implementing them.

Advantages of the talent scanner

  • Flexible and practical insight into the desired course of study: Get to know the typical questions and working techniques.
  • Find out which fields of activity you could work in after graduation.
  • Test your study skills and competencies and get to know fellow students.
  • Complete a certificate.
  • Alternative admission procedure if your numerus clausus is not sufficient.
  • 2 credits can be collected in the talent scanner for studying at RWU. 2 credits replace a compulsory elective subject and mean a workload of 50 to 60 hours.

Online counseling

The study program Electromobility offers regular online counseling. Do you have questions about the course? Do you just want to hear first-hand what it's like and what you do every day? Or do you want to know what you can do with your studies later on? Then you've come to the right place. You can find the exact dates and links to the video rooms on the course pages.
