A warm welcome to RWU!
Starting college marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in your life. The first few days are thrilling and full of new experiences and impressions, but also full of questions.
To help you quickly find your way around RWU and start your first semester well-prepared, we offer three orientation days for first-semester students before classes begin. These days include a central orientation session for all first-semester students, introductory sessions and required courses for your degree program, tours of central facilities, and insights into our student groups and initiatives where you can network.
We look forward to welcoming you here at RWU and wish you a successful start to your studies.

Welcome at the Weingarten Culture and Convention Center
The joint welcome event for all first-semester students from all degree programs at RWU will take place at the Weingarten Culture and Convention Center. If you’d like, you can walk to the venue from the parking lot at Building C on the RWU campus together with the Student Union and the student councils, or you can go directly to the Culture and Convention Center.

Tuesday's Schedule
Welcome to the On-Campus Degree Programs
On the second day, students will be welcomed to RWU based on their degree program. You can find the time and location of your program’s welcome event in the schedule below. Faculty and staff from your department, as well as the student councils, will introduce themselves. You’ll also learn how your individual class schedules are created and how to register for classes.
In short: This event is very important for you, so you should definitely attend!

Wednesday's Schedule
Mandatory Events and Introduction to the Institutions & Initiatives
On this day, departments from RWU and its partner institutions, as well as student organizations, will introduce themselves in the lobby of the main building.
Please note that several important mandatory events will also take place on this day:
- The Introduction to the Examination System
- The lecture on occupational safety and fire safety at the university
Students enrolled in English-language degree programs are scheduled to participate after the German class, starting around 12:00 p.m.
