What is Girls' Day?
Girls' Day is all about you: girls and genderqueer people in the STEM subjects, i.e. mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology, but also in the trades and research.
This annual day of action, which takes place in April, is designed to introduce you to the wide range of professions and increase your motivation to work in these fields. In a safe environment, you can ask questions, try out new things and experience how exciting STEM can be. Until now, it has mainly been men* who have worked in STEM professions. Women* make up less than 20% of the workforce. We want to change this, because we are convinced that women* can do STEM too!
At RWU, you can take part in special Girls' Day workshops from the seventh grade onwards in the areas of computer science and design and technology and mobility can take part.
As soon as the program for Girls' Day has been finalized, you will find the workshops on offer and the registration form on this page.
Impressions of the last few years
So far, the students have been able to program Lego robots, take photos in a photo lab, measure their hair with measuring equipment, change colors by adding acids and observe chemical reactions.
Boys' Day takes place at the University of Education Weingarten at the same time. The aim is to make boys and genderqueer people aware of occupational fields that are predominantly occupied by women*. This applies in particular to social professions.

On April 23, 2026, RWU will reopen its laboratories to provide insights into studying and research in the STEM field. You will attend two 90-minute workshops in succession from the fields of computer science and technology. Here, you will program mobile robots, create prompts for AI chatbots, solve measurement technology experiments in the escape room, learn the basics of lithium-ion batteries, experiment in the wind tunnel, or learn how additive manufacturing, recycled materials, and 3D printing are related.
There are two ways to join us on Girls' Day:
We have signed a cooperation agreement with Welfen-Gymnasium Ravensburg. If you are a 7th grade student here, you will definitely visit us with your teachers and fellow students and do not need to do anything else.
If you attend a different school, you can of course also participate in our workshops. To do so, simply register privately for Girls' Day at RWU via Girls' Day Radar.
In both cases, you will receive confirmation that you have participated in our event.

A day full of technology, research and fun - Girls' Day highlights from recent years
Every year, numerous students visit our University and take part in exciting workshops in the areas of computer science and design and technology and mobility took part. They programmed mobile robots, experimented with AI chatbots, solved measurement technology tasks in the Escape Room, discovered exciting phenomena in the physics lab, learned about additive manufacturing and recycling materials in 3D printing, created portraits in the photo lab and learned more about digital transformation and electrical engineering for everyday life.
