In the Wednesday seminar on December 10, Markus Pfeil will address the question of how important sustainability and resilience are for a future worth living.
Weingarten - In a world of increasing ecological, social and economic challenges, sustainability and resilience are decisive factors for positive change. Professor Dr. Markus Pfeil's lecture will shed light on how sustainable practices and resilient structures can not only contribute to overcoming current crises, but also offer long-term solutions for a more just and progressive society. The lecture invites discussion on how these concepts can serve as fundamental building blocks for a future worth living.
Markus Pfeil worked on the construction of a satellite system at Imperial College London for five years after completing his PhD in semiconductor physics. After moving to Friedrichshafen, he conducted research in the field of digital product development at an automotive service provider. His areas of expertise included energy saving and energy efficiency in the field of electromobility as well as various aerospace topics. Since 2018, he has been responsible for sustainable development at RWU as Senate Representative and has headed the Center for Sustainability and Resilience at RWU since 2025.
