Weingarten - A farewell at RWU, but a new beginning for 97 graduates of the Faculty of Social Work, Health and Nursing. The foyer of the university was festively decorated and offered space for numerous guests who celebrated the start of their new phase of life together with the graduates.

"You have developed not only professionally, but above all personally, at a time that was initially dominated by the coronavirus pandemic," said Professor Dr. Sebastian Mauser, Vice-Rector for Studies, Teaching and Quality Management, opening the graduation ceremony. The graduates are now all the better equipped for the challenges of their professional lives or further academic careers.

Head of Faculty Professor Dr. Anja Klimsa also congratulated the graduates: "You have all chosen a profession that focuses on people. A job that demands more than just professional expertise: it requires attitude, empathy, creativity, resilience and the willingness to get actively involved, and I thank you very much for that."

Prizes for outstanding achievements and commitment

Julia Haas from the Master's degree course in Applied Health Sciences received the prize from the city of Weingarten for her thesis, in which she dealt with municipal care conferences in Germany. The prize was presented by the Mayor of Weingarten, Clemens Moll, who emphasized the relevance of the thesis for local authorities.

Nina Vink received the prize from the Ravensburg District Office for her bachelor's thesis entitled "People with learning difficulties become parents. Accompanied parenthood in Baden-Württemberg - a first approach." The social work graduate accepted the award from Reinhard Friedel, Head of the Department of Labor, Social Affairs and Education of the Ravensburg district.

Laura Niechoj honored graduate Timo Preibisch on behalf of the student body for his great commitment to the working group, the AStA and the student council. As in the previous semester, singer and guitarist Noah provided the musical accompaniment for the graduation ceremony.
