Weingarten - In December, Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences welcomed eleven national and international representatives from the marketing sector as part of the International Marketing & Communication Seminar (IMCS). For one week, the program focused on professional and intercultural exchange, offering seminars and lectures as well as a varied cultural program.
The participants came from Heilbronn, Spain, Canada, France and Slovakia. They were welcomed and accompanied throughout the week by RWU Professor Dr. Barbara Niersbach and staff from the Faculty of Technology and Management. The aim of the seminar was to discuss current issues in international marketing and strategic communication and to bring together different perspectives from academia and practice.
Professional exchange and insights into the region
The program included specialist seminars and guided tours of the university campus and the region. The guests were introduced to central RWU facilities such as the International Office and the CLIC Language Center. Students on the part-time Master's degree course in International Business Management & Sustainability and Bachelor's students of Business Psychology were also able to take part in selected program items. A company visit to outdoor outfitter VAUDE provided practical insights into marketing and corporate communications.
Evenings together in Isny, Weingarten and Ravensburg provided space for personal exchange and networking. The guests were particularly impressed by the landscape of the region and the atmosphere at the Christmas market in Ravensburg.
Insight into BMW marketing at the end
The closing evening was introduced by guest speaker Susanna Eiber - Head of Marketing for BMW in Germany. She took the 120 guests on a journey through the car manufacturer's marketing history. She highlighted the marketing of previous models as well as current strategies surrounding the new BMW iX3, which will be launched next spring. In the discussion that followed, the representatives exchanged ideas with students and professors from RWU. The evening - and thus a successful IMCS week - ended in a relaxed atmosphere with a sumptuous buffet and stimulating conversations.
