In a joint meeting this week with representatives of the participating faculties and university didactics, intensive work was once again carried out on the rough concept for the new degree program. The new degree program is being created as part of the "Future Science University" project funded by the Stiftung Innvation in der Hochschullehre. It combines the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science with interdisciplinary skills, the so-called future skills. The focus is on project-oriented studies that are geared towards real problems from business and society and introduce students to interdisciplinary collaboration at an early stage.
The working group brings together different professional perspectives and thus forms a central basis for the content of the new degree program. The structure, content and didactic approaches are developed and continuously refined in close cooperation so that the rough concept can be presented to the university committees from April.
Head of the future degree program are Prof. Dr.-Ing. Theresa Breckle, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heiko Ratter, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Ellenrieder and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Samuel Vogel, who are supporting this process and contributing their expertise in a targeted manner. Together with other committed professors, an innovative and future-oriented Bachelor's degree program is gradually being created that combines sound engineering fundamentals with interdisciplinary collaboration and practical application.
