Professor Dr. Thomas Spägele has been Rector of Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences since 2008. He was re-elected by the University Council and Senate in 2013 and 2022 and is currently in his third term of office.
1985: Abitur at Graf-Zeppelin-Gymnasium in Friedrichshafen and mathematics prize
1986-1992: Studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart
1992-1996: Research assistant at the Institute for Applied and Experimental Mechanics at the University of Stuttgart
1996: Doctorate on the subject of "Modelling, simulation and optimization of human movements"
1996-2000: Calculation engineer at MTU Friedrichshafen
2000-2004: Professor at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University and Head of the Vehicle Systems Engineering course
2004-2008: Head of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, responsible for the Friedrichshafen campus
