Weingarten - A total of 68 Bachelor's and 45 Master's students graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ravensburg-Weingarten University (RWU) last winter semester. At a joint graduation ceremony, the graduates were presented with their certificates and diplomas in person by the deans of their studies.

"Everyone has talent. And you have discovered yours," said Professor Dr. Heidi Reichle, Vice Rector for Didactics, Digitization and University Communication, in welcoming the graduates. "You have achieved your successful degree at RWU with a lot of discipline, zeal, drive and commitment, determination and hard work," she congratulated those present.

Professor Dr. Bela Mutschler, Dean of the Faculty, also congratulated the graduates of his faculty: "You can be proud of yourselves!" While the path that now begins is still unclear for some, "you have laid a crucial foundation with your studies here at RWU and the skills you have acquired," Mutschler said. "Always look for opportunities to develop yourself and allow yourself to be a little crazy sometimes," he encouraged the young professionals.

Awards for outstanding performance and special commitment

Two awards were also presented during the graduation ceremony. The doubleSlash Award from the Friedrichshafen IT company of the same name went to Michael Ruf for the best degree in Applied Computer Science. The award was presented by Julia Hensle, human resources officer at doubleSlash. She emphasized the importance of practice-oriented teaching and cooperation with regional companies - both for the companies and for the students' career orientation.

The second award was the prize of the "Verfasste Studierendenschaft". It went to Michael Schichta for above-average commitment. Michael Schichta was instrumental in founding and establishing the House of Makers and Engineers (H.O.M.E.), RWU's Maker Space.

In addition to the graduates of the last semester, those of the last five semesters for whom no official graduation ceremony could be held due to Corona were also invited to the subsequent celebration. More than 460 guests celebrated together the successful completion of their studies and this stage of their lives.
