Navratri and Dashain Celebrations at RWU

On October 24, Indian and Nepalese students at RWU celebrated the traditional festivals of Navratri and Dashain together for the first time. Both festivals honor the Hindu goddess Durga and her victory over evil. The students invited anyone interested to learn about their cultural traditions and celebrate together with dancing, singing, and music. Refreshments were also provided; visitors were able to round out the colorful evening with chai and a variety of dishes from Indian and Nepalese cuisine.

The next event will take place on November 7: Diwali, the Festival of Lights.
