Almost twenty students from both the Mechanical Engineering and International Project Engineering courses took part in an excursion to the company Duwe 3D in Lindau. The excursion took place as part of the subject "Production Measurement and Testing Technology" and offered the participants the perfect opportunity to gain additional training in 3D coordinate measuring technology.
In an introductory lecture, Managing Director Claus Knoll prepared the students for the practical part of the excursion. The topic of digitalization in the development and production process played a particularly important role. In the practical part, the students were able to get to know different measuring devices in practice. For excursion leader Professor Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Engelhardt, the collaboration with the company was a "stroke of luck". "We have access to state-of-the-art equipment and can therefore supplement our teaching in a meaningful way."
