For the ninth time, the company TOX Pressotechnik from Weingarten has honored an outstanding academic achievement at RWU. Lorenz Heinz received the TOX-Applied-Engineering-Award 2022 for his master thesis entitled "Systematic investigation of cooling structures in water-cooled electrical machines".

During the award ceremony, the guests were able to learn about a complex technical topic. "We need such new ideas," found the mayor of Weingarten and was pleased that such high-tech innovations come from his city. The result of this master's thesis will help to improve the performance and service life of e-motors, e.g. also in e-cars, thanks to optimized cooling. Professor Dr. André Kaufmann who supervised the preparation of the master's thesis emphasized the successful cooperation between industrial companies and RWU.

As a globally active technology company, TOX Pressotechnik attaches great importance to training and further education and also to the recognition of outstanding academic achievements. The prize is awarded annually to all engineering graduates of RWU. The right of nomination lies with the professors. The prize winner receives the opportunity to make a fully financed visit to one of the 18 TOX locations worldwide of his or her choice.

The award ceremony took place on April 4 at TOX Pressotechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Weingarten. In addition to the award winner with his family, the rector of the university Professor Dr. Thomas Spägele, the mayor of the city of Weingarten Clemens Moll as well as the owners and managing directors of TOX Pressotechnik were present.
