Professor Dr. Claudia Sassenrath has been accepted into the EXIST Women @Bodensee funding program. The program supports women from the Lake Constance region who are interested in founding their own company to further develop innovative business ideas. In addition to mentoring, participants receive financial support to develop their start-up projects.

As part of the programme, the Professor of General Psychology is working on developing measures to raise awareness and prevent sexualized violence, victim blaming and traditional role models.

Transferring scientific findings into social practice

The aim is to transfer scientific findings from psychology into practical learning and intervention formats that can then be used in different contexts such as schools, universities, companies or in public spaces. The aim is not only to impart knowledge, but also to stimulate personal reflection and strengthen the ability to act. A central element of the idea is the development of modular, combinable formats that integrate both analog and digital approaches and are scalable in the long term.

Inclusion in the program is a special distinction, as EXIST Women specifically supports women with high innovation potential at an early stage of start-up development. "This offers me the opportunity to transfer and further develop my research on empathy, social cognition and social attribution processes into an impact-oriented start-up project," says Claudia Sassenrath.
