Program
What impact do AI and digital technologies have on our society? How can we use them responsibly to strengthen our democracy? What opportunities do these new technologies offer, and what are their limitations? We’ll explore these questions together at “Code for Democracy” as part of the “Long Night of Democracy.”

In parallel with the KICKATHON, the State Agency for Political Education will have an interactive booth offering hands-on activities, publications, and giveaways. Visitors can engage with questions about democracy and opinion-forming in a playful way and learn about current political issues.
Refreshments will also be provided—snacks and drinks will be available.
KICKATHON "Code for Democracy"
Together with others, you’ll develop creative digital solutions to current societal challenges. With the help of modern AI tools, your team will create initial digital prototypes—such as AI chatbots or other digital applications— without needing any programming knowledge.
The focus is on your creativity, collaborative experimentation, and the development of innovative ideas. Discover what AI can do, work as part of a team, and design digital solutions for a strong democracy!
Participation is free for teens ages 14 and up and young adults.
No prior technical knowledge is required.
Registration for Code for Democracy
Would you like to participate in the KICKATHON? If so, please feel free to register in advance! That way, we can plan better. However, registration isn't required— last-minute participants are also very welcome!

“Code for Democracy” is a joint initiative of the City of Weingarten, the Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft e. V., the State Agency for Political Education in Baden-Württemberg, and the RWU Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences as part of the Long Night of Democracy in Baden-Württemberg.
