Strategic Code Analysis Among the International Elite

In an international competition, students from Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences demonstrated their expertise in the field of cybersecurity. The “Weingarten Wiresharks” team competed against a high-caliber field of 20 international universities and colleges at this year’s International Capture The Flag (iCTF) competition. In a neck-and-neck race that remained exciting until the very last minute, the Wiresharks secured a sensational third place in the non-high-school team category.

Integrating Theory and Practice

Participation provided an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts of IT security in real-world conditions. A key focus was on the direct exchange of knowledge outside the traditional lecture setting. During the intense competition phases, it became clear just how crucial data literacy and basic technological knowledge are for defending against cyberattacks.
