Around 100 students were guests at RWU as part of Code Week and experienced a wide range of activities.

Weingarten - Code Week is a Europe-wide initiative that aims to introduce digital skills to the general public in a fun way. The aim is to get children and young people in particular excited about the digital world through tinkering, hacking and programming.

Code Week at the RWU

Code Week took place at RWU on October 23 and was attended by students from Albert Einstein Gymnasium, Claude Dornier School, Gymnasium Weingarten and RNG Wangen, among others. The participants were warmly welcomed to the university by Veronika Weber-Schopp and Professor Dr. Marius Hofmeister. The participants then took part in various workshops, including robotics & AI, augmented reality, building and programming mini-robots and web development.

Afterwards, Professor Dr. Markus Pfeil gave a lecture on the topic of magic and science and delighted the audience with tricks and small hands-on experiments. After the lunch break, which was spent enjoying a relaxed barbecue together - organized by the RWU E student council - the students and all external participants had the opportunity to take part in open workshops in the afternoon. CERN also offered a roadshow. RWU alumni, who now work for the world's largest research center for particle physics, gave insights into their everyday work and provided information about a wide range of career opportunities in this field.
