RWU has maintained close relationships with universities and institutions in India for many years. More than half of the international full-time students at the university come from the South Asian country. In addition, there are five university partnerships in different regions, which open up a wide range of exchange opportunities for students and teaching staff.

In February 2025, a delegation from RWU traveled to India. In addition to visits to the partner universities, the program also included meetings with branches of regional companies that operate locally. The aim was to identify potential synergies between the university and industry and to further develop existing collaborations.

RWU is now following up on these discussions with a special series of events. The International Office has successfully acquired third-party funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to organize an Indian-themed week at the university. Entitled "Namaste@RWU", this will take place on campus from April 20 to 25, 2026.

Guest lecturers from all five partner universities are expected to take part in the week. They will give students, staff and lecturers insights into the culture, society and university life of their home countries in various formats. In addition, representatives from politics and business will also take part in selected program items.

The program is deliberately designed to be diverse. Among other things, guest lectures are planned in German language courses at the CLIC as well as in specialist courses in various degree programs. The program is complemented by a Hindi crash course, intercultural training, a panel discussion on economic relations between Upper Swabia and India as well as various informal meeting formats that offer opportunities to immerse oneself in Indian culture. All events will be held in English.

Further information on the detailed program and registration will be continuously updated on the website.
