What is health economics?

The Bachelor's programme in Health Economics trains business economists and economists for the health care system who work at the interface between economics and patient care.
As a health economist, you will contribute to shaping the growing health care sector. Topics such as personnel management, marketing or corporate management are also of great relevance in health care facilities (health management). Political, social and legal aspects are also taken into account. They support the various players in this growth industry to improve their economic position and thus improve care.

practical relevance

During your studies, you will gain valuable experience and apply your theoretical knowledge through internships in companies and institutions during your studies. Here you will learn what practical problems there are in health management. During your practical semester, you will work in one of our numerous cooperation partner companies. These practical placements often result in direct offers for starting a career or opportunities to write your thesis with practical relevance in the company.

Benefit from our experts and make valuable professional contacts.

At Ravensburg-Weingarten University, the selection procedure is applied to all Bachelor programmes and is based on the application documents.  The preparation of a proposal list or ranking list is explained below:

From the application documents, the position of the applicant on a ranking list is determined according to the following procedure:
Calculation of a weighted overall grade according to the formula:

[(average grade of the university entrance qualification)+(grades German, mathematics * 2 and continued modern foreign language)/4] / 2

This overall grade is improved by the following values:

  1. in the case of relevant vocational training, insofar as it is not part of HZB, by 0.2
  2. for each full year of relevant professional activity by 0.1 but not more than 0.2.

You can find further information on application and allocation of study places at the Admissions Office.
