On July 23, RWU welcomed a delegation from Binawan University in Jakarta, Indonesia. The guests included Farouk Abdullah Alwyni, Vice Director of Administration and Resources, Dr. Aliana Dewin, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, and Dr. Indra Kusuma. The aim of the visit was to discuss existing and potential collaborations in the field of international specialist training.

The talks focused on a cooperation model that is already being successfully implemented in the field of nursing: Indonesian nursing staff first learn the German language in their home country and then complete a degree in nursing at RWU. This model contributes significantly to the sustainable and quality-assured integration of international specialists into the German healthcare system. "We look forward to the further expansion of our partnership with Binawan University with great confidence," emphasized Professor Axel Olaf Kern, head of the part-time Master's degree course in Management in Social and Health Care.

Recruiting specialists: potential in the engineering sciences too

The question of the extent to which the proven qualification model can be transferred to technical degree courses and the engineering sciences was also discussed during the visit. In discussions with the Indonesian delegation, in which Rector Professor Dr. Thomas Spägele and the Vice-Rector for Research, International Affairs and Transfer, Professor Dr. Michael Pfeffer, also took part, corresponding approaches and opportunities for cooperation were explored. Both sides signaled their interest in expanding cooperation in the future, with a view to the growing demand for international specialists, including in technical fields. The visit also offered the opportunity to present RWU's infrastructure to the guests and provide insights into current projects and study programs.

Binawan University is one of the largest private universities in Indonesia. As part of the extensive Binawan Group, which has been active in the training and international placement of nursing staff for many years, it has extensive experience and expertise in the qualification of international specialists - a strong basis for future cooperation with RWU.
