It would be great to have more business informatics in school, wouldn't it? If you could remain flexible with your studies and not have to commit yourself immediately? If you opt for our Business Informatics PLUS Teaching Post course at Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences, you'll keep many options open. As a teacher at vocational schools, with a subsequent Master's degree in your pocket. Or as a business IT specialist at a company, straight after your Bachelor's degree.

This is the right place for anyone who is enthusiastic about business administration and computer science and wants to use this knowledge in business or as a teacher.

Introduction to the course content

With our comprehensive Business Informatics Plus Teaching Post course, we make it possible to achieve several goals at once. In addition to comprehensive knowledge of economics and computer science during your studies, you will also gain valuable methods from educational science as well as pedagogical and didactic content. This is made possible by the cooperation between Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences and Weingarten University of Education, which combine their expertise in this joint degree program. This dual qualification is a great advantage in the teaching profession - and is also becoming increasingly important in companies.
Good to know: Of course, the knowledge acquired is also applied. Two school placements and a practical semester are planned during the course of the degree in order to gain valuable experience at an early stage.

Career prospects

The primary career goal of the course is to become a senior teacher at a vocational school, e.g. at a technical secondary school or a vocational college. With the further qualification, via our Master's course, the subjects of computer science, business administration and economics can be taught. However, many graduates decide to work in a company or become self-employed after completing their Bachelor's degree. The course's high degree of professional flexibility makes this possible. The areas of work in industry, services, trade, crafts, education, health and administration are very diverse and offer good earning potential. Also internationally.

The application documents must be accompanied by a self-test for study orientation, which you can take at www.bw-cct.de.

Application for the winter semester and summer semester

Business Informatics PLUS Teaching Post offers study places for the winter semester and the summer semester.

Application deadline:

for the winter semester is July 15.
for the summer semester is January 15.

The deadlines are cut-off dates, which means that your application documents must be received digitally by this date in order to be considered for the allocation of study places.

Lectures for the winter semester start at the beginning of October, for the summer semester in mid-March. The exact dates can be found in the menu item Dates.

Who receives a study place?

All applicants who meet the admission requirements will receive an offer of admission.

Selection procedure - how is the overall grade calculated?

At RWU, this study program is subject to the admission and selection regulations for Bachelor's study programs is applied and carried out on the basis of the application documents. The creation of a shortlist or ranking list is explained below: The applicant's position on a ranking list is determined from the application documents according to the following procedure: Calculation of a weighted overall grade according to the formula
[(average grade of the university entrance qualification)+(grades German, mathematics * 2 and continued modern foreign language)/4] / 2

If there are more applicants than places, 90 % of the places are allocated by the selection procedure (best overall grade) and 10 % of the places are allocated according to waiting time.

Improvements to the overall grade

This overall grade can be improved if one or more of the following qualifications are proven:

Completed vocational training as an IT clerk, IT specialist or e-commerce clerk: 0.3
Professional experience in the training occupation of at least 1 year: 0.1. This bonus is limited to 0.3 for 3 years of professional experience.

Extracurricular achievements, pract. Activities and recognized previous experience: 0.1 per qualification, max. 2 qualifications can be taken into account:

Federal Voluntary Service (min. 11 months)

Succession procedure

Prospective students often apply to several universities and degree programs. As a result, study places regularly become available again because an applicant decides to apply for a different course. These places that become available again are awarded in a succession procedure to those who did not get in first. Places are again allocated according to the ranking list, i.e. first to those with the best overall grade.
