From May 8 to 10, the Klaus Tschira Foundation organized the "Explore Science" science experience days - in the open air, directly on the Uferpromenade in Friedrichshafen. Children, young people and families in particular were addressed. And many of them accepted the invitation.
Take part in MINT
Dozens of school classes and kindergartens from the Lake Constance region visited the event site on Thursday and Friday. Teachers and pupils immersed themselves in the diverse program of 18 hands-on stations, 23 workshops and an exciting stage program. In addition to other universities and institutions, RWU Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences also pitched its tents on the shores of Lake Constance.
Very good response
In addition to the hands-on station, which was in operation on all three days, RWU also offered two workshops for school classes, both of which were fully booked in advance: "Science and Magic" with Professor Dr. Markus Pfeil and "Mobile Robotics with Lego Mindstorm" with Achim Feucht and Moritz Sieber.
On Saturday, hundreds of people, including numerous families, once again flocked towards the purple RWU flags. A festival atmosphere was created. The motto for all three days was "Future STEM". Teaching staff, employees and, above all, students had come up with a wealth of interactive attractions that ensured that the RWU tent was full to capacity for the entire duration of the event.
For example, interested visitors were able to play virtual reality games developed by students themselves, build and paint 3D-printed models of a Mars rover from the "Rover to Mars" student initiative or look over the shoulders of robotics professionals from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence.
