Wolfram Höpken is a Professor of Information Systems at Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences and Director of the Institute for Digital Change (IDW).

His research focuses on business intelligence and data mining, semantic web & interoperability, and ICT systems in tourism.

He has been involved in EU-funded projects in the area of Semantic Web and harmonization of data exchange in tourism (Harmonise, Harmo-TEN, Euromuse, HarmoSearch) as well as research projects in the area of knowledge discovery and knowledge management within tourism destinations. Wolfram Höpken was Vice President, Commercial Director and Member of the Board of the international association IFITT for more than 15 years.

He was Chair of the Research Track of the 2009 ENTER Conference and Overall Chair of the 2014 ENTER Conference and has chaired the CEN/ISSS Workshop eTOUR.

Wolfram Höpken has published over 70 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Information Technology & Tourism.
