After Easter, in the week from April 17 to 21, a group of 13 students from the Liceo Scientifico Statale P. S. Mancini from Avellino/Italy visited Ravensburg-Weingarten University. The students came to Weingarten together with their German teacher Maria Gabriella Sementa to learn about study opportunities at RWU.

The school is part of the initiative "Schools: Partners for the Future" (PASCH), a partner school network that aims to awaken interest and enthusiasm for Germany worldwide and motivate young people to learn German. The students from Avellino finish their schooling with a degree equivalent to the German Abitur and also fulfill the language requirements for German-language courses of study by passing the German language diploma of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The group of students was able to gain a variety of impressions of the RWU's degree programs whether through introductory lectures, the construction of a small engine, laboratory tours and much more. The program also included a visit to the Didactics Center, the robots in the IKI and the workshops of the Formula Student Team.

The academic program was rounded off by a guided tour of the basilica, kindly organized by the Mantua Weingarten Association and an excursion to Friedrichshafen as well as a visit to RAFI GmbH & Co. KG in Berg.

Special thanks go to the city of Weingarten for the reception on Thursday morning by Mayor Alexander Geiger and the invitation to a typical Swabian dinner at Gasthof Rössle. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the host families who took in the students for this week and showed the young people our region during their free time.

"Our one-week stay at RWU was undoubtedly a very valuable experience and a great enrichment," concluded Ms. Sementa.
