Since 2018, RWU has been supported by AOK Bodensee-Oberschwaben in its occupational health management (OHM) as part of an annual cooperation agreement. Since the beginning of the cooperation, the range of courses on offer has been significantly expanded and a wide variety of prevention topics have been financed, including in the areas of exercise, nutrition and dealing with stress. The health insurance fund also advises the university's OHM working group on prevention topics and on strengthening health-promoting structures.

This is made possible by a regulation in the German Social Security Code, which mandates the statutory health insurance funds to support health promotion in companies with specialist knowledge and courses. The focus here is on prevention, which is why it is precisely regulated what can be offered. For example, a "back training" course is considered a preventative measure, while a visit to a fitness facility to increase bicep size is not.

Now that the cooperation has been renewed for 2024, RWU teaching staff and employees can also benefit from the high-quality courses offered by AOK Bodensee-Oberschwaben this year. This complements the measures offered by RWU with the help of MWK funding.

Invitations to the health program in the summer semester will be sent out by mid-February.
