How we accompany you on the way to your decision

Are you unsure what your future should look like and wondering whether studying is the right path for you? Or are you looking for a degree program that really suits your interests and strengths? Then the Central Student Advisory Office is the right place for you.

We support you in all phases of your decision-making process: from initial orientation to choosing a suitable degree program and questions about everyday life as a student. Our advice is free, individual, independent of the University, open-ended, confidential and competent. You and your concerns are the focus of our advice!

Advice is available on site, by phone or video call, whichever suits you best. Simply contact us by phone or email at studienberatung@rwu.de. For more complex topics, several appointments can of course be arranged. We look forward to getting to know you and finding your way together!

We help you with your choice of studies

1. get to know yourself better

Together with you, we look at your interests, skills, goals and values. What do you enjoy? What are you particularly good at? What topics inspire you? How do you envision your future? What is important to you? How do you want others to perceive you? During the advisory session, we support you with questions, reflection exercises and guidance.

2. explore exciting fields of study and careers

You will be given ideas on how to discover suitable fields of study, for example through research or self-tests such as those on the website of Studienwahl.de. There you will find information on all fields of study.

3. make targeted use of orientation tests

Orientation tests help you to find suitable degree programs and professional fields that match your interests and strengths. We will be happy to help you evaluate the results. This will enable you to better classify your findings and derive specific degree programs from them.

4. exchange ideas and take advantage of counseling opportunities

Sometimes it helps to talk to others about your own thoughts. In a personal meeting or an orientation workshop, you can sort out your options with us, clarify open questions and gain new perspectives.
