Indian and Nepalese Festivals at RWU
October is a time of celebration in India and Nepal. With Navratri and Dashain, the Council of Indian Students (CIS) and the Nepali Community Weingarten are bringing these traditions to RWU.
Navratri, the festival of nine nights, is dedicated to the goddess Durga and is celebrated with dance, music, and fellowship. Dashain, Nepal’s biggest festival, symbolizes the victory of good over evil and the coming together of family and friends.
University members are warmly invited to this joint celebration to learn about both festivals and their traditions.
Another festive event will take place on November 7: The CIS is planning its Diwali celebration. Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, offers another opportunity to experience the cultural diversity at RWU.
