For more than 15 years there has been a close partnership between the Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) of Thammasat University and the Ravensburg-Weingarten University (RWU). With approximately 240,000 graduates since its foundation in 1934, SIIT is one of Thailand's largest and most renowned universities. In particular, the Faculty of Technology and Management at RWU can look back on many joint activities such as the implementation of summer schools at SIIT in Bangkok, regular exchange programs and several faculty projects.

The visit of the Thai University delegation to RWU serves to expand and deepen the cooperation in the field of master’s programs, scientific projects and publications as well as to establish a bilateral exchange of lecturers between the Faculty of Technology and Management of RWU and SIIT. The ten-member delegation from Bangkok headed by SIIT Director Professor Dr. Pruettha Nanakorn was warmly welcomed by Professor Dr. Michael Pfeffer, Prorector of RWU for Research, International Affairs and Transfer and the Head of the International Office, Ines Roman.

Following the presentation of the institute by a member of the SIIT management team, the intensification of the cooperation was discussed. Professor Dr. Barbara Niersbach, Director of International Affairs and Professor Dr. Eberhard Hohl, Director of International Universities and Companies Network, emphasized the special possibilities of the International Academy for further cooperation at master level. Professor Dr. Heiner Smets, Dean of study program Technology Management, welcomed the expansion of a bilateral academic program through the exchange of lecturers from both Universities. In concrete terms, appointments were made for the first guest lectures in Bangkok and Weingarten.

To conclude the trip, the SIIT delegation visited the company RAFI at Berg at the invitation of Markus Folz, Head of Human Resources. The plant tour there was given by Thomas Fuss, a graduate of the MBA program "International Business Management" (IB) who current is Team Leader of Sales department. He was supported by his colleagues and current IB students, Alex Keller and Oualid Hamdi.
