Semesterstart in der Zehntscheuer

Semesterstart in der Zehntscheuer / International Business Management

The International Business Management (IB) Master's programme started the winter semester in a spectacular location: In the Zehntscheuer in Ravensburg, the new programme director, Professor Dr. Barbara Niersbach, welcomed twelve students who are starting the part-time Master's course at RWU.

After the presentation of the university and an introduction to the structure of the study programme, the students had the opportunity to get to know each other before the older students also arrived at the Zehntscheuer. Together they listened to the guest lecture by Robert Neuner on the topic of sustainability.

Sustainability in positions with leadership role

The focus was on the question of how future managers can implement sustainability in their companies. The fact that this topic is assessed very differently in the international context provided an occasion for a lively exchange.

For the students of the IB Master's programme, who usually aspire a position with leadership responsibility after graduation, this topic has a special relevance. Critically questioning and constructively implementing decisions is also part of the studies at RWU.

A much wanted change from the online semester

For the older semesters, after an online-only semester in summer 2020, the event was a great opportunity to exchange ideas in person with their fellow students and professors - although under strict hygiene rules. A mixture of face-to-face and online events is planned for the courses in the coming semester.
