HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAMS FOR THE 2022/23 Winter SEMESTER
The courses and classes below are open to all RWU professors and employees. Have fun!

Start the Week with a Healthy Back
It only takes 15 minutes to invigorate your body and mind with this short workout! We improve the health of our backs together using targeted exercises to strengthen and stretch the muscles and spine. The exercises are simple and easy to follow, so you can incorporate them into your daily work routine and do them whenever you want.
To add a little variety we will be performing selected exercises with a TheraBand this semester. If you don't have a TheraBand, you can borrow one from us for the duration of the course. All of the exercises can also be performed without a TheraBand.
When? Mondays from 12:00 - 12:15 P.M.
Dates: October 10., 17., 24., 31.; November 7., 14., 21., 28.; December 5., 12. (2022)

Relax-Yoga
An all-round yoga class for relaxation, stress management, and back health that is based on the fundamental tenets of yoga while simultaneously drawing upon the most up-to-date scientific research.
Yoga classes begin with gentle movements that are conducted in sync with in- and exhaling. During this exercise the mind is focused on breathing, physical presence, or the imagination. This can lead to a state of physical and mental relaxation. Over the course of the hour, the exercises are increased to a medium level of intensity. An easier alternative is also demonstrated for the more advanced movements. The hour ends with a relaxation exercise, e.g. breath work or focusing on each part of the body in turn.
When? Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:00 PM.
Dates: October 11., 18., 25.; November 8., 15., 22., 29.; December 6., 13. (2022); January 10., 17., 24. (2023)

This lecture reveals the hidden sugar in every day foods. You will learn about common high-sugar products and how to avoid them, as well as which sweetener is the best.
